Australia and Fiji from Dec. 1. 2011 to 15. 2011:

From LA we took Air Pacific (the Fidschi Internationale Airline) to Sydney. We crossed the 180teen longitude and lost one day.

Air-Pacific is a good airline with extremely friendly service. And their is a stop-over in Fiji which devides this long flight.

Sdyney - Australia:

We came here because of a invitation of an old friend for his retirement farewell party.

All this was a surprise visit to him and it worked out very well.

We have been overwhelmed by the hospitatlity and friendliness of the old Australien collegues and friends and we decided spontaneously to change our route and come to Australia in 2013 in order to travel with this friends - they all have bought caravans and will tour Australia. So we can do some miles together. We will visit Mexico and Central America in 2012 and try to find a good ship connection from LA to Sydney beginning of 2013.

Warren´s Farewell Party:

Visit with Pat of the "Featherway Wildlife Sanctuary":

After the celebration we had one week in down town Sydney and we enjoyed it. Sydney is one of the most beautiful cities worldwide. The giant natural harbour is unique and the city is always full of life. We visited „Manly“ with the ferry and had a nice hike there. We have strolled to the „Rocks“ - here Sydney is born. And most of the old docks have been converted into highend appartments. A visit to „Sydney Opera House“ and the famous „Harbour Bridge“ was a must with a hike through the „Bothanical Garden“ and „Hyde Park“.

At the end we had a delicious seafood meal with Pat and Warren at the Sydney Harbour.

We can only say thank you Tony for your invitation and your hospitatlity as well as thousand thanks to you Pat and Warren for your hospitality and the 25 years friendship which will hopefully continue for the next 25 years.

Fidschi Island - Tokoriki Island Resort:

Sofitel Hotel on Fiji Island

We landed in Nadi airport and stood overnight in the Sofitel hotel on the mainland.

Next day we took a small and fast ferry to the Island of Tokoriki and stood for 3 nights at the „Tokoriki Island Resort“. We totally enjoyed a relaxing time in the spacious bures,

in the warm (28°C) and cristall clear water and the delicious Fijian food. We only can recommend Fiji and especially this resort - here is the internet address: „www.tokoriki.com"

Back in USA / California on Dec. 15. 2011. We stood few days in Santa Barbara with Sybille & Christian.

Than we drove via LA to San Diego and there we crossed the border to Mexico. We took the very small border crossing in „Tecate“, about 30 miles east of San Diego.

After 14 months touring in USA we left on 21. 12. 2011 for Mexico.
